Funny though, that the bulk of the critics in the diaspora would find a thousand and one problems with the new institutions.

Somalia is so violent its government has decamped to Kenya. But under a United States Supreme Court ruling Wednesday, deportees can be sent back to Somalia anyway. More than 8,000 Somalis being held in the United States are subject to deportation or are awaiting hearings, including Keyse Jama, who has been jailed in Minnesota since his 1999 assault conviction.

Nuradin Abdi, 32, is accused in a never-acted-on plot to blow up an unspecified Columbus-area mall. Authorities say he worked with an unidentified suspect and Iyman Faris, the imprisoned former Columbus truck driver who pleaded guilty to helping terrorists to scout malls and share bomb-making instructions.
